There have been establishments using the name "West End" on Manhattan's Upper West Side since at least 1911, when the legendary West End Bar opened up on 114th St. That bar has since closed, but the name lives on in others, such as the West End Hall - a large open beer hall featuring an international beer menu and creative pub food. The communal nature of the place makes it a neighborhood favorite for Game Day, and when the weather turns nice, the back patio turns into a lively biergarten "lite."
